Stokesdale Lodge No. 428 will hold its next stated meeting on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 7:30 PM.  Dinner will be served at 6:15 PM in the dining room and the menu will consist of Brother Ray Comer’s “nearly world-famous” venison stew at the cost of $5.00 per person.  If you’ve never tried venison stew before, you are in for a real treat.

Brother Don Middleton, Past Master and Treasurer of Stokesdale Lodge was recently admitted to the hospital after suffering from chest pains. After a series of tests, the doctors found a 95 percent blockage in one of his arteries, and a stint was inserted. Fortunately, it appears that he did NOT have a heart attack, and Brother Middleton is now back at home.

Please keep Brother Middleton and his family in your prayers as he continues to receive treatment and works to get back on the road to recovery.

Stokesdale Lodge No. 428 will conduct a 5-hour lecture service on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 8:00 AM.  The Grand Lodge of North Carolina now requires all subordinate lodges to conduct a 5-hour lecture service every 2 years.  Even-numbered lodges are to conduct theirs in 2008, odd-numbered lodges in 2009.

Lecture service has the same requirements as a School of Instruction.  We are required to have a minimum of 5 members present, with at least 3 officers among that number.  Please mark your calendars and attend the Lecture Service if you can.

The Greensboro Scottish Rite Bodies invite you to join them on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at (corrected) 7:00 PM, in the Scottish Rite Auditorium for their annual Ceremony of Remembrance. The Ceremony of Remembrance is one of the relatively few public ceremonies that the Scottish Rite has to share with the outside world, and is a very powerful and beautiful observation of Easter. This event is open to all Masons, their families and friends.

Dinner will be served after the service at the cost of $7.00 per person, but reservations are required. Please call the Scottish Rite Office at (336) 275-3579 by 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2008 to make your reservations.

Stokesdale Lodge No. 428 will hold its next stated meeting on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 7:30 PM. Dinner will be served at 6:15 PM in the dining room and the menu will consist of pinto beans.  Hot dogs will also be served.  The cost of the meal is $5.00 per person.

We will be welcoming the District Deputy Grand Master and the District Deputy Grand Lecturer for their official visit on behalf of the Grand Lodge at this meeting, so please attend this meeting if you can.
